Debbie Shannon’s career in the mobile shredding business began in an unlikely, or perhaps likely, way.  After having her identity stolen, Debbie began combing the Internet for shredders to protect her personal information.  She found everything from standard office shredders that fit under desks to industrial-sized shredders in her search, but didn’t come across any mobile shredding services that would come to her house and shred her personal items.

It occurred to Debbie that perhaps an untapped market existed in metro Atlanta, as she was certain that telecommuters, home offices and small businesses would benefit from on-site shredding services.  Furthermore, Debbie thought that perhaps female business owners would respond well to having another female help them with their shredding needs.

Therefore, in the fall of 2007, Debbie and her business partner attended an expo in Chicago where they met with representatives from Shred-Tech^® and had a chance to view and learn more about its trucks.  They decided to purchase an MDS-15GT because of its affordability, fuel efficiency and the fact that it does not require a commercial driver’s license.

Over a year later, Debbie is finding tremendous success in the mobile shredding industry.  Action Secure Shredding primarily serves small- to mid-sized businesses throughout metro Atlanta and Debbie has the goal of expanding its services throughout the Southeast.
